CIU Caravan– A Taste of Limestone Country Oct. 7 – 16, 2016
To help us celebrate Indiana’s Bicentennial, the caravan will be in Corydon from Oct. 13 – 16.   Here are some links to events which took place in Corydon in the 1800’s:
The Indiana Historical Society (450 West Ohio Street in Indianapolis) has a “You Are There” exhibit about Corydon and the men who wrote the application for statehood as well as the Indiana Constitution. Actors portray some of the people involved and you can converse with them as if you were there in 1816. It’s pretty interesting to find out what the process was for becoming a state.

The only Civil War battles in Indiana took place in south eastern Indiana. John Hunt Morgan’s raid started in Corydon July 8, 1863. Our caravan will be traveling along part of his route when we go from Bloomington to Corydon.
